In 2024, as the SCEWC celebrates its thirteenth year, it remains the world’s premier smart city event. This edition builds on past successes, introducing new innovations to address urgent urban challenges. With cities accounting for 75% of global energy consumption and 70% of greenhouse gas emissions, the need for forward-thinking solutions has never been more critical.

A standout feature of the 2024 event is the significant participation from the Czech Republic, which will showcase one of the largest national pavilions at 300 sq. m. The Czech pavilion leverages synergy with the quadruple helix of national innovation ecosystem stakeholders, including five key ministries—Industry and Trade, Regional Development, Transport, Environment, and Foreign Affairs.

This collaborative approach is enhanced by the involvement of three major Czech cities—Prague, Brno, and Pilsen—which will present their local ecosystems. The pavilion will feature 26 innovative Czech startups, SMEs, and academic institutions, showcasing the country’s growing influence and expertise in the smart city sector.

As over 800 exhibitors and tens of thousands of experts converge, the Expo will tackle critical urban challenges. The theme "Cities Inspired by People" aligns with the New European Bauhaus initiative, emphasizing sustainable and aesthetically pleasing public spaces that enhance quality of life.
