New technologies have been and will be a key for the development of modern cities. We, in the Czech Republic, are honoured to be able to contribute with some of our most promising innovations and solutions. However, to create a sustainable world, we need to look beyond technologies. The ultimate goal is to turn urban areas into places where people thrive, feel at home and desire to spend their lives. Every city, big or small, is a complex ecosystem full of interactions between people, technologies, and environment. It starts with the topics of infrastructure and mobility but goes as far as energy usage, water management, ecology, food production, logistics and healthcare. Only achieving balance within this bigger picture can lead us to a true Smart City concept. Technologies suddenly lose their importance as particularities. What matters more is their mutual complementarity, impact on the environment and capability to provide valuable service to inhabitants. It might even turn out that there are areas where the real progress is about making one step back rather than a hundred more steps forward.
With this notion we created City For The Future. Technologies and services in our portfolio support sustainable urban development in accordance with the needs of inhabitants and with respect to nature.
City For The Future is a joint project of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Czech Trade Promotion Agency - CzechTrade.
